At Trucksmith, we’re more than just a team; we’re a family. And like any family, we support each other through thick and thin. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to share a story of resilience, determination, and the power of giving back.
In 2023, our Director, Emma, received a breast cancer diagnosis. This news understandably had a profound impact on everyone at Trucksmith. However, Emma faced her diagnosis with incredible strength and positivity. Following three surgeries and further treatment, we’re delighted to share that she has made a good recovery.
Inspired by her own experience and wanting to give back to the community that supported her, Emma set herself a challenge for April 2024: to walk five miles every single day with her loyal canine companion. Her goal? To raise vital funds for Stand Up To Cancer, a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, which funds vital research into new cancer treatments and tests.
Emma’s dedication was truly inspiring. Rain or shine, she laced up her walking boots and hit the pavement with her four-legged friend by her side. Her commitment not only showcased her personal strength but also rallied the entire Trucksmith team behind her.
And we didn’t just cheer from the sidelines. Recognizing the importance of Emma’s efforts and the incredible work of Stand Up To Cancer, Trucksmith pledged to match every pound she raised.
Thanks to Emma’s incredible effort and the generosity of her supporters, she raised an astounding £3,000! And with Trucksmith’s matching contribution, a total of £6,000 was donated to Stand Up To Cancer.
This significant donation will directly contribute to funding life-saving research, bringing us closer to a world where everyone survives cancer.
We’re immensely proud of Emma’s courage and determination. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting one another and the positive impact we can have when we come together.
