Renault has driven away with a haul of trophies at the What Car? Van and Commercial Vehicle Awards 2025, with the Master and Kangoo models taking top honors in four categories. The all-new, fourth-generation Renault Master claimed the coveted “Van of the Year” title, a testament to its innovation and practicality.
The New Renault Master (ICE) impressed the judges with its focus on efficiency and safety, while retaining the usability that large van buyers demand. This led to it being crowned “Van of the Year 2025,” as well as “Best Large Van.” What Car? Editor Steve Huntingford praised the Master’s design, highlighting its impressive cargo capacity, easy access, and outstanding safety features.
The electric version, the New Renault Master E-Tech 100% electric, also secured a win, taking the title of “Best Large Electric Van.” Judges were particularly impressed by its extended range, cargo capacity, and comfortable interior, proving that electric vans can be just as capable as their traditional counterparts. Huntingford commented, “The new Renault Master E-Tech proves that size is no barrier to electric vans, with a longer range than rivals, as well as the ability to carry more cargo.”
Adding to Renault’s success, the Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric retained its title of “Best Small Electric Van” for the second year running. Its practicality, versatility, and efficiency continue to make it a popular choice for businesses. Huntingford noted, “The latest fully electric Renault Kangoo E-Tech offers a complete solution for businesses looking to go green, thanks to a long electric range, peppy performance and the prospect of low running costs.”
Adam Wood, Managing Director and Country Head Renault Group UK, expressed his delight at the awards, stating, “These prestigious awards… demonstrate the breadth of appeal of the Renault light commercial vehicle line-up, with a range of vans that are not just great for business, but are great for drivers, too.”
